Two of our preferred curricula for maths are Life of Fred.

And JUMP maths.

In our early years of home educating (DD23 was in year 4) we came across a book by John Mighton called "The Myth of Ability". That book totally transformed how I taught my children maths, and my own relationship with it. It was a key deschooling moment for me, as I came to understand that so many maths teachers are really very average, because they are good at maths, and have not had to understand it's intricacies to explain it to a child.

"The six lesson school teacher", a great article, covering what school actually teaches your child.
