So today saw us taking DS15 off to East Perth train terminal to be met by a bunch of other airforce cadets, for a week at an airforce base. He's been looking forward to this for awhile, so hopefully he enjoys it.
Meanwhile it is of course significantly quieter around here- it's always fascinating how getting rid of one child can just change the dynamic so much. DS10 and I went for hot chocolate and macarons on the way home, and early this evening I was showing him the basics of the sewing machine.
Tomorrow we have a playdate with some friends, and after that I'm hoping to have a couple of fairly relaxed days staying fairly close to home, before picking up DS15 on Friday.

"The six lesson school teacher", a great article, covering what school actually teaches your child.
